The Anglican Diocese of Norwich was founded in 1094. It covers all of the County of Norfolk, apart from a small area in the extreme west of the county, which lies in the Diocese of Ely, plus the Waveney area of north east Suffolk, with a population of approximately 833,000.
The Diocese has 577 parishes, with some 209 benefices and 648 church buildings.
Jacqueline Humphreys is the Chancellor of the Diocese of Norwich. She was appointed as the Chancellor on the 1 July 2024, and is also the Chancellor of the Diocese of Worcester. She is based at St John’s Chambers, and is a Family & Divorce Barrister.
Stuart Jones is the Registrar of the Diocese. He was admitted as a Solicitor in 1983 and is a Legal Director with Birketts LLP in Norwich.
He has been the Registrar of the Diocese of Norwich and the Bishop’s Legal Secretary since 1 January 2009. He is also Registrar of the Diocese of London.
Kevin Wilson is the Deputy Registrar. Kevin is an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer, who has recently completed the Canon Law LLM Course at Cardiff University.
